William Robert Welch

William R. “Bob” Welch, 66, of Moline, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at home surrounded by his loving family.

Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities.

William Robert Welch was born February 2, 1959, in Elmhurst, Illinois, the son of William and Eleanor (Tatum) Welch. He dedicated over 40 years of service to UnityPoint Health, formerly Trinity Medical Center, retiring in February 2025 only due to health issues.

Bob spent the past 16 years with the love of his life, Tara Kroll, sharing countless memories and joy. He had a passion for NASCAR and racing, loved fishing and golfing, and was an enthusiastic Chicago Cubs fan. More than anything, Bob cherished his family—especially his grandchildren, who brought him endless pride and happiness.

Bob is survived by his significant other, Tara Kroll; his daughter, Rachael Frizzell of Moline; step-children, whom he treated as his own, Danielle (Matthew Franzen) Sacakli of Rapids City, Illinois, Ashley Sacakli of Moline, Haley Sacakli of Moline, and Jacob Kroll of Moline; his grandchildren, Nicholas Welch, Marley Frizzell, Aden Doyle, Adalyn Franzen, Cruz Murillo, Carter Rangel, Alex Lira, and Maci Herrera; sisters, Shirley Mueller, Evelyn Fiandaca, Kerry Mayer, and Tracy Welch; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his step-son, Hakan Sacalki.
