Troy Henry Plowman

November 15, 1963 — January 1, 2023

Troy H. Plowman, 59, of Muscatine, Iowa, died Sunday, January 1, 2023, at Trinity Rock Island.


Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities. Services will be held Saturday, March 4, 2023 from Noon to 4:00 p.m. at Salvation Army, 1000 Oregon Street, Muscatine, Iowa 52761. Friends are invited to bring a dish to share. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities. Services will be held at a later date.


Troy Henry Plowman was born November 15, 1963, in Muscatine, Iowa, to William and Alice (Lichtenwald) Plowman. He married Sharlyn VanEst on May 22, 1993, in Muscatine, Iowa, with whom he shared his beloved dog, Sadie Marie Plowman.


He was a member of the Salvation Army and Special Olympics. Troy enjoyed fishing, bowling, dungeons & dragons, and playing games on his phone. He was an avid Iowa State Fan and you could always count on him to tell great stories. In his spare time he was an assistant power lifting coach, and had special eating places of Pizza Ranch and Happy Joes. Above all else, he enjoyed Sunday dinners at mom and dads house.


Troy is survived by his wife, Sharlyn Plowman; mother, Alice (Lawrence) Winkel; siblings, Shawn (Brenda Lea) Winkel, Vickie (Stacy) Small, and Rodney Plowman; many nieces and nephews; father-in-law, Elmer Millage; brother-in-laws, Kevin VanEst and Scott Millage; sister-in-law, Kim Waack; second mother, Glenda Plowman; and his dog, Sadie Marie Plowman. He was preceded in death by his father, William Plowman; grandparents; many cousins, mother-in-law, Sharon Millage; and father-in-law, Richard VanEst.
