Steven J. Jones

Steven J. Jones, 62, of Moline, Illinois, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline.

Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities.

Steven James Jones was born December 11, 1963, in Davenport, Iowa, the son of Richard Ellis and JoAnne (Dean) Jones. He worked for McLaughlin Auto Body for several years.

Steve always put others before himself. He devoted a lot of his time to taking care of his mother and step-father. He loved doing yardwork and grass, and was known to help neighbors and friends with work they needed around the yard, as well. He will be dearly missed by his family and many friends.

He is survived by his mother and step-father, JoAnne and Terry Swank of Moline; his siblings, David Jones of Newcastle, Wyoming, Brenton Swank of West Palm Beach, Florida, and Victoria (Joey) Lastinger of Savannah, Georgia; numerous nieces and nephews, including his niece, Erica Lopez, with whom he had a close bond; and his best friend, Ron. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Jones; and his sister, Diane Gosney.
