Shirley J. Rexroad, 76, of Princeton, Iowa, passed Saturday, April 18, 2026, at the Vistas at Bettendorf, in Bettendorf, Iowa.

A celebration of life will be 1:00 p.m. Sunday, May 10, 2026, at First Presbyterian Church, in Le Claire, Iowa. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities.

Shirley J. Denton was born on August 26, 1949, in Springfield, Illinois, the daughter of Jay and Edith (Jones) Denton Jr. She took great pride in dedicating over 30 years as a school bus driver in several communities, where she built lasting connections with the children and families she served.

She was an avid diamond dot artist who found joy in placing each piece with care and patience. Shirley also enjoyed watching westerns, especially Gunsmoke, along with The Price Is Right and Let’s Make a Deal. She had a gift for making friends quickly and cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren.

Shirley is survived by her son, Matthew (Wendi) Rexroad of Le Claire, Iowa; grandchildren, Josh Jennette, Jonathan Jennette, Emma (Timm) Kesler, Allan Rexroad, Kerri Rehl, Hailie Rexroad, and Willow Rexroad; and a great-granddaughter, Ember Hahn. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jay and Edith Denton Jr. and her sisters, Eleanor Denter, Delores Brawner, and Judith “Judy” Swaggerty.
