Sara J. Burch

Sara J. Burch, 39, of East Moline, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at home with her mother by her side.

Services to celebrate Sara’s life will be held at a later date. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities. Memorials may be made to the Quad City Animal Welfare Center, Milan.

Sara Jessica Burch was born September 4, 1986, in Turlock, California, the daughter of Timothy and Anita (Edmiston) Burch. She graduated from Turlock High School.

Sara followed a diverse career path starting with Culver’s. She later enjoyed her time working for Aramark and, in recent years, was employed at Hodge in East Moline.

She had a deep love for the outdoors, especially hiking and kayaking, and found joy and peace in nature. Sara was also gifted in many creative pursuits, including crocheting, drawing, and painting. Her happiest moments were those spent with her mother, her boyfriend, Zac Cripe, and her beloved dog, Penny.

Sara is survived by her mother, Anita Burch; her boyfriend, Zac Cripe; aunts and uncles, Aaron Edmiston, Audie Edmiston, Andrew (Vergie) Edmiston, and Karen, Richard, Mark, Roger, Keith, and Scott Burch; her dog, Penny; and many cousins and good friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Timothy Burch; and her brother, Steven Burch.
