Rosemary M. Thompson, 86, of Davenport, Iowa, passed on January 8, 2026, at her residence, surrounded by family.
Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities. A celebration of life will take place in the future.
Rosemary Marie Langfeldt was borm on October 29, 1939, in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of Herman and Velma (Thomas) Langfeldt. She graduated from Wheatland High School, in Wheatland, Iowa and went on to dedicate more than 20 years of service as a cashier at Walgreens. She married James Frett, and together they had two children before separating. She later married Howard “Bud” Thompson on January 1, 2005. Bud preceded her in death on January 8, 2014.
She cherished time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the center of her life. She was especially grateful to have recently been present for the birth of her newest great-grandchild. Her family truly was her world.
Rosemary is survived by her daughter, Sandra (James) Evans; son, Mark Frett; grandchildren, Samantha Tyson, Cory (Roxanne) Evans, Carry (Luke) Thiessen, Heather (Josh) McDanel, Deborah (Andrew) Schram, and Amanda (Tony) Thorington; and 15 beloved great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bud Thompson; her parents, Herman and Velma Langfeldt; and all her siblings.
