Robert L. Swank, 78, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away Thursday, October 29, 2026, at MercyOne Genesis Davenport Medical Center.

Private burial will take place alongside his wife, Martha, at Rock Island National Cemetery. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities.

Robert Lester Swank was born January 4, 1948, the son of George and Vivian (Allen) Swank. He was a proud U.S. Navy veteran. He worked several jobs throughout his career, working as a truck driver and a garbage man, but his true calling was that of a junker. It helped pay the bills but was also his passion.

Bob is survived by his three children, Bobbi (Rick) Kress of Bagley, Wisconsin, Melissa (Aaron) Neff of Davenport, and John (Amy McFall) of Rock Island, Illinois; two grandsons, Ryan Kress and Aaron Swank; his great-grandson, Odin; siblings, Terry (JoAnne) Swank of Moline and Linda Hildreth of East Moline; and sister-in-law, Lisa Swank. He was preceded in death by his parents and the love of his life, his wife, Martha Swank.
