Richart L. Mann

Richart L. “Dick” Mann, 77, of Moline, Illinois, died Friday, January 26, 2018, in his home.

Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities.  A family memorial service will take place at a later date in Vinton, Iowa, and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Vinton.

Richart Lee Mann was born August 24, 1940, in Waterloo, Iowa, to Harold Etna “Curly” and Maxine Bernice Richart Mann. He served in the U. S. Navy, and graduated from University of Northern Iowa.  He married Julie Schwanke in 1961, in Vinton, and they were later divorced.  He married Doris Jump on May 24, 1983, in Las Vegas, Nevada. She died December 2, 2012.  He was employed by Deere and Company for 33 years, retiring as Personnel Director in 1997. Following his retirement, he was branch manager and technical recruiter for Volt Services Group in San Diego and Davenport, and technical recruiter by B & M Associates in San Diego.

He was an avid golfer, and as a high school All-American running back, he loved college basketball and football. While living in San Diego, he loved watching the  Chicago Bears games at Balboa’s.  He was a die-hard Republican, and an amateur military historian who was proud of his “war room.”

Dick is survived by four children and spouses, Scott and Debra Mann of Menifee, California, Bradley and Barb Mann of Deale, Maryland, Stacy Mann of Moline, and Jason and Allison Mann of Costa Mesa, California; nine grandchildren, Lindsey Mann, Kalie Mann and her fiancé Alex Gould, and Tyler Mann, Brittnie Larson and her fiancé Craig McDowell, Owen Larson and Emma Larson, and Henry, Hudson and Harper Mann; three great-grandchildren, Izaiha, Jayvon, and Jayce McDowell; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ted and Jeanne Mann of Vinton, Mark and Becky Mann of Vinton, and Mike and Barb Mann of Davenport; and his former wife, Julie Mann of Menifee.  He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Doris.
