Richard L. “Ricky” Hoing

Richard L. “Ricky” Hoing, 69, of Milan, Illinois, died Thursday, December 20, 2018, in his home.

Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities. A memorial gathering will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday in the Horizon Room at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline. Private burial will be in Rock Island Memorial Park.

Richard Lee Hoing was born August 25, 1949, in Macomb, Illinois, to Bobbie Max and Rosa Lee (Belknap) Hoing. He was a painter and repairman at Case in East Moline and Bettendorf for 35 years, retiring in 2004. He was a avid golfer and made a hole-in-one this year, and enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, taking road trips with his family, and helping others.

Ricky is survived by two sons, Randy Hoing of Moline and Bret Hoing of Milan; six grandchildren, Byndi and Brandee Bair and Alyssa, Andrew, Jerzee, and Bret Jr. Hoing; two great-grandchildren; and siblings, Rod Hoing of Moline, Pam Roberts of Macomb, Bobbie Millword of Rock Island, Theresa Gabelhausen of Rochelle, and Sharon Myers of Macomb, He was preceded in death by his parents and a great-grandson.
