Richard William Jackson was born March 24, 1947, in Davenport, Iowa, the son of Robert Gene and Lenora Edith (Kelly) Jackson. He married the love of his life, Florence “Jane” Daniels, on March 27, 1965, in Davenport. Together the couple shared nearly 61 years of happy marriage and special times spent with their children and grandchildren.
Dick worked as a millwright for the former Martin-Marietta Cement Company in Buffalo. His happiest times were spent fishing and spending time with his pride and joy, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed hunting and working on old cars, tractors, and other antiques.
Dick is survived by his beloved wife, Jane; three children, Robert (Janice) Jackson of Davenport, Brian (Cindy) Jackson of Montpelier, Iowa, and Vallie (Shawn) Masias of Orion, Illinois; seven grandchildren, Preston Jackson, Brittany (Mitchell) Donahue, Baylee (Steven) Jackson, Ashton Masias, Paige (Creal) McKee, Laynee Masias and Gabriel Masias; his two great-grandchildren (which he teased that he loved just a little bit more than his grandchildren), Brixten and Clay, with one great-grandchild on the way; his brother, Garry (Janet) Jackson of New Mexico; and many close friends including DJ Carlson, Kenny Grubbs, Don Leming, and his longtime fishing buddy, Chuck Hopwood. He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandson, Drew Jackson; and brothers, Larry, Terry and Jeff Jackson.
