Patricia A. “Pat” Chapinski, age 72, of Rock Island, Illinois, passed into Eternity on October 27, 2017 at St. Anthony Care Center, Rock Island, after a lengthy illness.

Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at the Chapel at St. Anthony Nursing and Rehab Center, at 11a.m., with visitation one hour prior to the service. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities. Burial of the cremated remains will be 11 a.m. Friday, November 3, 2017, at Calvary Cemetery, Sterling, IL. Memorials can be made to Metropolitan Community Church of the Quad Cities, Davenport, IA or to the Quad Cities Animal Welfare Center, Milan, IL

Pat was born August 29, 1945, in Sterling, Illinois, the sixth child of Leo S. and Ena Mary (Lyons) Chapinski, attended St. Mary Grade School, Sterling, and was a member of the 1963 graduating class of Newman Central Catholic High School of Sterling. Pat attended DePaul University, Chicago, Sauk Valley Community College, graduating from Marycrest College, Davenport, with a BA in Accounting.  Her accounting and auditing career included First National Bank of Sterling, Quaker Oats of Chicago, and National Credit Union Administration as Federal Auditor. Pat was appointed the first Municipal Accountant of Rock Falls in 1977-1980 by Mayor Pignatelli.

Pat treasured her childhood memories and took pride in being a member of the “Wallace Street” group, residing there from 1945 to 1960. Her affiliation with Relay for Life/American Cancer Society was in memory of her many friends and family who succumbed to the dreaded disease.

Pat is survived by her Partner, Sara Meyer of Bettendorf, Iowa, and her children: Andrea (Allen) Swayzer, Antone, Alon and Anya; Stephanie Korf, Reece; Roxane Korf; J.P. (Melissa) Korf, Miles;  her sisters,  Ena Delores (Floyd) Iverson of Grayling, Michigan, and Rosemary Pizarro of Rock Falls, Illinois, sisters-in-law Carol Chapinski of Rockford, Illinois, and Bertie Chapinski of Matlock, Washingotn, her Aunts Yetta Todd of Morrison, Illinois, and Marie Czlapinski of Milladore, Wisconsin, several nieces, nephews and cousins, and her best furry friend, Aubry Ann.

Pat was predeceased by her parents Leo and Ena Chapinski, her step-father Ferris A. Rynearson, her godparents John and Cecelia Brennan of Chicago, her three brothers Robert (Rose) Chapinski, Leo Jr. Chapinski, Arthur Donald Chapinski.
