Michael R. Cline, 62, of Calamus, Iowa, passed away Friday, September 11, 2026, at University of Iowa Health Care.

A private celebration of Mike’s life will be held at a later date. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities. Donations may be made to a charity of your choice. In Mike’s memory, lend a hand to a stranger, offer a hug to someone who needs one and take time to enjoy nature and the outdoors.

Mike was born on August 31, 1964 to Charles and Jane (Edwards) Cline. He graduated from North Scott High School and Hamilton Technical College. Following graduation Mike worked briefly on the railroad but later found his passion to be a self-employed worker.

Besides his family, Mike’s great love was nature and the outdoors. He found peace and enjoyment at his home on the Wapsipinicon River.

He is survived by his mother, Jane Jewell of Des Moines, Iowa; his father and step-mother, Chuck and Barb Cline of Bettendorf, Iowa; his sister, Lisa Prine of Des Moines; step-brother, Scot (Susie) Martin of Fruita, Colorado; nieces and step-nephew, Katie (Charles) Dawson, Kristin (Derrick) Prine and Alex (Jenna) Martin; stepfather, John Ehlers; longtime friends, Mike and Cheryl Curry; and special cousin, Janice Sharar; and many other cousins.

Mike was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Russell and Winifred Cline and his maternal grandparents William and Edith Edwards.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff in the Burn Clinic in Iowa City for their compassionate care of Mike.
