Larry D. “Butch” Hartman, 88, of Milan, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at home surrounded by his family.
There will be no public services. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities. Memorials may be made to Quad City Animal Welfare Center, Milan.
Larry Dale Hartman was born February 4, 1937, in Knoxville, Illinois, to Arthur Hartman. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1954 to 1960 and worked at John Deere Harvester Moline for 30 years.
In 1960, he married Karen Riggins of Aledo, and spent 65 years side by side with her, building their beautiful family. Larry loved golfing, cracking jokes, taking care of his lawn, an ice-cold Pepsi, and
cherished time with his great grandchildren and beloved pets. He will be remembered for his quick wit, fun loving spirit, and unconditional love for his family.
Larry is survived by his wife, Karen; daughters, Jody (Todd) Hartman of Warrenton, Virginia, and Brenda (Rich) Catahay of Milan; grandchildren, LJ (Anthony Macchiano) Catahay, Tag (Jacob) Hartman-Simkins, Emily (Jason Soles) Catahay, and Taylor (Liz) Hartman; great-grandchildren, Landon, Elly, Abel, Finn, Edee, Arthur, and Maxwell; and his brother, Bobby Hartman.
Butch is reunited in death with his sister Charlette Maynard.
