Joseph C. Horton

Joseph “Joe” C. Horton, 54, of East Moline, passed Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Arcadia Care at Toulon.

Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities. Memorials may be made to the family for a fund to be established.

Joseph Clifford Horton was born on December 11, 1971, the son of Albert and Judith (Banks) Horton. After obtaining his GED, he pursued his dream of becoming a truck driver, a goal he proudly achieved for several years before his health began to decline.

was a simple man who found joy in life’s quieter moments, especially a good nap. He attended church at AITLM and held a strong and steady faith in Christ. He enjoyed fishing, cookouts, family gatherings, and watching the Green Bay Packers.

Joe is survived by his mother, Judy Van Kampen of Coal Valley, Illinois; siblings, Patti Anderson of Silvis, Illinois, and David Horton of Coal Valley, Illinois; nephews, Jonathan, Zachary, and Austin; and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Albert Horton, and his stepfather, Lawrence Van Kampen.
