Joan L. Dunn, 86, of Davenport, Iowa, died Friday, July 25, 2025, at Harmony Utica Ridge, Davenport.
Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities.
Joan Lucille Miller was born January 19, 1939, in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of John and Gladys (Russell) Miller. She had three loves of her life, Lewis Creighton, Milton Fisher and Leonard Dunn.
She worked as an LPN for many years for various nursing homes and hospitals, including St. Francis Medical Center in Waterloo, and St. Luke’s Hospital, Manor Care, and Fejervary Health Care Center, all in Davenport.
Joan belonged to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, and spending time with her family and friendss. When her electronics didn’t work, she would yell at them, and when they started working she enjoyed playing Mahjong and Tetris. She will be remembered as a wonderful mother, but the title she was most proud of was that of “grandmother”.
Joan is survived by two children, Shelly Creighton-Fisher and Kwaun Dunn, both of Davenport; her beloved grandson, LôTtée Fisher; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Harry, Marjorie, and Shirly Miller, and her twin brother, Jimmy Miller.
