Harold E. “Gene” Walker

Harold E. “Gene” Walker, 79, of Rock Island, Illinois, died Tuesday, February 12, 2020, at home.

A gathering to celebrate Gene’s life will be 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, February 15, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline.  Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to glioblastomafoundation.org.

Harold Eugene Walker was born February 9, 1941, in Rock Island, the son of James and Ruby (DeVore) Walker.  He served in the U.S. Army National Guard and went on to marry Elena Langiano on June 14, 1969, in Auburn, Illinois.  He worked for John Deere Parts in Milan as a mechanic for 30 years, retiring in 2002.

Gene was a member of Rock Island Bible Church.  He enjoyed fishing, traveling, and spending time with his friends.  Above all else, family was the most important thing to him.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Elena Walker; three daughters, Daphne Bogenschneider of Diamond, Illinois, Dena (Jeremy) Sprott of Moline, and Diane (Tony) Lampasona of Parker, Colorado; five grandchildren, Jordan Bogenschneider, Ethan Walker, Mason Sprott, Addison Lampasona, and Victor Lampasona; and a brother, Gary Walker of Dixon, Illinois.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a son-in-law, Robert Bogenschneider.
