E. Darlene Peterson

E. (Esther) Darlene Peterson, 88, of Woodhull, Illinois, joined the church triumphant Wednesday morning, July 1, 2026 at the Richard L. Owens Hospice Home, Peoria, Illinois.

Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities.

Esther Darlene Ranard was born on December 30, 1937, in Fairfield, Iowa, raised the daughter of Edward Zurcher Sr. and Caroline Esther Ranard Zurcher. She spent her life dedicated to working the family farm and spending time with her sister, brother and their families. Her world revolved around her grandchildren.

Darlene is survived by her son, Larry (April) Peterson of Jonesboro, Georgia; grandchildren, Britta (Israel) Sanchez, Lars Peterson, Bjorn (Whitney) Peterson, Inga (Gary) Olson, Chris (Amanda) Schroeder, Jason Schroeder, and Tyler (Angela) Peterson; great-grandchildren, Jordan, Logan, Ella, Jaimie, and Sai; three great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Patty (Andy) Strandberg; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Garry B. Peterson, parents, and a brother, Ed Zurcher Jr.
