Dorothy I. Wetzel

Dorothy I. Wetzel, 88, of Muscatine, Iowa, died Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at home.

A gathering to celebrate Dorothy’s life will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 23, at Church of Christ, Muscatine.  Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities.  Burial is in Greenwood Cemetery, Muscatine.

The former Dorothy Irene Kulp was born July 5, 1935, in Muscatine, the daughter of Louis Edwin and Velma Viola (Carlisle) Kulp.  She married the love of her life, Donald Dean Wetzel, and the couple had four children prior to his passing in 1989.

She enjoyed bingo and casino gambling and above all else her family.

She is survived by four daughters, Viola (Mike) Walker of Montpelier, Iowa, Sandra (Edward) Thomas of Muscatine, Debra Wetzel of Buffalo, Missouri, and Vicki (Bill) Canady of Muscatine; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchilden; a sister, Loretta Wheeler; and a brother, Russell Kulp.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, five brothers and one sister.
