Donna M. Routh, 95, of Coal Valley, Illinois, passed Friday, June 19, 2026, at Celebrate Senior Living of Moline.
Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities. Per Donna’s wishes, there will be no services.
Donna Mae Routh was born on February 26, 1931, in Des Moines, Iowa. She married Donald Earl Wronkowski on November 2, 2002, in Rock Island, Illinois. Donna was adopted at a young age and grew up with a brother and sister. In her 80's, she learned about and met a few members of her biological family which gave her great joy. She worked as a nurse in Missouri, providing both hospital and private care, before moving to the Quad Cities. She also owned a motel on Table Rock Lake in Branson, Missouri, one of her favorite places to be.
She and Don were frequent attendees of First Evangelical Free Church in Moline, Illinois. Donna overcame many hardships and disappointments in her long, colorful life but her faith was unshakable. She always liked to say she kept Jesus in her pocket.
She had a lifelong love of dolls and enjoyed collecting them, some of which she made herself. Donna loved working on puzzles, feeding the birds at McDonald's each morning, taking Sunday drives, and spending time at the park with her dogs. Her dogs, Suzy and Sam, held a special place in her heart. After Suzy passed away, Donna cherished anything that reminded her of her beloved companion. Although Sam was originally intended to be Don's dog, it did not take long for Donna's love and devotion to make him her own.
This past week Donna said “I am going to get my wish to be with Jesus."
Donna is survived by her husband, Don Wronkowski; children, Kathy (Greg) Pietraszewski of Windsor Heights, Iowa, Richard (Andrea) Doggett of Urbandale, Iowa, and Robert Doggett of Portland, Oregon; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many other family members whom she loved dearly.
