Carole L. Brown

Carole L. Brown, 79, of Davenport, Iowa, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, March 22, 2024, at Bickford of Davenport.

Private family services will be held with burial at Davenport Memorial Park.  Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities.  Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

The former Carole Lorraine Fox was born January 5, 1945, in Anamosa, Iowa, the daughter of Harold and Neva (Gilmore) Fox.  She earned her degree from State College of Iowa (now University of Northern Iowa).  She married the love of her life, Dennis Brown, on July 20, 1968, in Davenport.  

Carole taught physical education in the Chicago and San Antonio areas until the birth of her daughter in 1972.  She later worked at Celebration Bridal Shoppe in Davenport for ten years.  Carole’s grandson, Mitchell, was the light of her life, and she especially loved attending his many school and sporting events over the years.  She also enjoyed going for coffee with her friends.

Carole is survived by her beloved husband of over 55 years, Dennis; two children, Heather (Daniel) Martens of Bettendorf, and Aaron Brown of Davenport; and her grandson, Mitchell Martens.  She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Edith “Edie” LaMaster.

Carole’s family would like to give special thanks to everyone at Bickford of Davenport and St. Croix Hospice for their wonderful care.
