Morrison, Illinois

Carol J. Francois, 79, of Morrison, Illinois, passed away Thursday, February 19, 2026, at Allure of Prophetstown, with her family at her side.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities. Memorials may be made to the family.

Carol Jane Jones was born on May 11, 1946, in Moline, Illinois, the daughter of Kenneth and Helen (Meyers) Jones Sr. She married Jeffrey Lynn Francois on March 20, 1998, in LeClaire, Iowa. The two shared twenty-one years together prior to his passing on May 3, 2019.

Carol was a dedicated member of the Davenport Masonic Center, where she worked faithfully for more than ten years. She enjoyed gambling, relaxing with an afternoon nap, and most of all, spending time with her family. Her grandchildren were her world and brought her endless pride and joy. It wasn’t uncommon to find her watching an episode of Cops with the grandchildren. Carol also had a well-known love for fast food, especially chicken strips, and she was never hesitant to ask someone to make a quick stop to pick her up something to enjoy. It was just one of the many simple pleasures that brought a smile to her face.

Carol is survived by her daughters, Chris (Gary) Schaffter of Peoria, Illinois, Doris (Terry) Christal of Hannibal, Missouri, and Julie (John) Burleson of Erie, Illinois; nine grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren. She is reunited with her husband, Jeff Francois; great-grandson, Brantley Delp; her best friend whom she lost recently, Julie Miller; and her parents.

Condolences may be shared at CremationQC.com.
