Obituary

Audrey L. Allen, 103, of Colona, Illinois, passed away Saturday, October 10, 2026, Hillcrest Home, Geneseo, Illinois.

A memorial service will be announced in the near future. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities.

The former Audrey Lee Boehler was born August 2, 1923, in Rock Island, Illinois, the daughter of Mark and Loretta (Kurtz) Boehler. She married the love of her life, J. Daryl Allen, on April 28, 1946, in Moline. Together, they shared more than 47 years of marriage and raised three sons who were the pride and joy of her life, before Daryl’s passing on June 16, 1993.

Audrey worked for many years as a secretary at Desaulniers & Company printing company. She was an active member of both Colona United Methodist Church and Carbon Cliff Methodist Church, where she found fellowship and opportunities to serve others.

Giving back to her community was a defining part of Audrey’s life. She devoted hundreds of hours to volunteering at the Colona Food Pantry. She was also involved in the PTA, serving as both president and secretary, and participated in Willing Workers in Colona. Her dedication to volunteering reflected her generous spirit and her desire to make a difference in the lives of others.

Audrey is survived by three sons, Jack (Ann) Allen of Carbon Cliff, David (Mike Johnson) Allen of Moline, and Phil (Susan) Allen of Oceanside, California; five grandchildren, Scott (Amber) Allen, Brian (Carrie) Allen, Amy (Matt), Mike Allen, and Mark Allen; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Daryl; and two brothers, Bobby Boehler and Mark Boehler, Jr.
