William Michael Vicevich was born October 5, 1949, in Geneseo, Illinois, the son of John and Rose (Mitchell) Vicevich. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army.

He grew up as a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Atkinson, Illinois, where he served as an altar boy. He was a very intellectual man who enjoyed reading poetry and spoke five different languages including Spanish, Japanese, German and French. He was a gentle soul who was always willing to help those in need. He enjoyed bicycling, martial arts, and baseball. Above all else, he was a great brother, friend, and soldier.

Bill is survived by a sister, Sandra Dixon of Macungie, Pennsylvania; and brothers, James Vicevich and Thomas Vicevich; and several nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Dennis and Samuel Vicevich.

It has been said that “Old soldiers never die, they just fade away.” Bill has now gone on to serve new lands with an even greater Commander-in-Chief!
