She spent the first half of her life in Missouri and attended Lincoln Schools in Louisiana, Mo.  She later moved to the Quad Cities. On December 24, 1955 she married Saul Delbert Combs, Sr. From that union, three children were born - Cheryl Combs Walton, Saul Delbert Combs Jr. (Brother), and Diane Combs. She was preceded in death by both parents, spouse, three sisters and one brother. She worked at John Deere in Mount Joy, for many years.

She leaves behind her children;  Cheryl (Freddie) Walton, Michelle Combs, and Diane Combs of Rock Island, IL; Saul Delbert Combs, Jr (Miranda) of Davenport, IA, and Sterling (Signe) Combs of East Moline, IL. Sister, Linda (Charles) Tucker of Davenport, Iowa, and Brother, Lawrence Wommack of Marina, California. She leaves behind a host of many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and Baxter Blackmon of Atlanta, Georgia whom she thought of as another son.

She loved her family and strived to keep everyone connected.  She always said, “I want you all to embrace and hold on to each other.” She often mentioned her granddaughter Kynthia Wyatt, whom had passed in 2016 and how much she missed her.  Now theyre together again. We want to thank everyone for their calls, food, flowers, and all acts of kindness.
