Monic A L. Zikra

Monica Louise Zikra, 69, of Bettendorf, Iowa, died Friday, April 22, 2022, in her home.

Monica was born on July 15, 1952 in Des Moines Iowa to Edward and Theresa (Süssenguth) Miller. She was a graduate of Saydel High School and Scott Community College. She was employed by Performance Food Group.

Monica is survived by two sons, Alexander and Mark Zikra, of Chicago, and her sister Margaret Amosson of Amarillo, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Sharon, and brother Harry.

Monica was known for her big personality and contagious laugh. She loved her friends and family dearly but was most passionate and proud of her two sons, for whom she sacrificed everything to raise. The loss of her large and unique love leaves behind an unrepairable wound in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known it.

A memorial service will be held at Luther Memorial Church, 1201 1201 Grandview Ave, Des Moines on Saturday, May 7th at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the outreach program at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Bettendorf. Condolences may be shared at CremationQC.com.
