Kathleen M. Sandrock

Kathleen M. Sandrock, 68, of Bettendorf, Iowa, died Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at Bettendorf Health Care Center.


A gathering to celebrate Kathy’s life will be 10:00 a.m. to Noon on Saturday, April 1, 2023, in the Horizon Room at Trimble Funeral Home at Trimble Pointe, 701 12th Street, Moline, Illinois. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities.


The former Kathleen Mary McGuire was born July 5, 1954, in Boston, Massachusetts, the daughter of John and Jane (Bruce) McGuire. She married Ted Sandrock on December 1, 1973, in Long Grove, Iowa.


Kathy attended St Ambrose College working toward a mass communication degree. She was active in both Iowa and Illinois state Now, being President of Iowa Now for two years. She was also President of the Quad Cities Embroidery Guild, successfully running several exhibits at the Deere Wiman House.


She participated for 35 years in the Festival of Trees here in the Quad Cities, winning numerous prises for her tree designs and embroideries. She was employed for several years with Borders Bookstores, as their community relations officer. She retired after suffering a stroke in 2003, to a life full of family, friends and embroidery.


Kathy is survived by her husband, Ted, and her son, Terry Sandrock of Bettendorf
