Kathleen L. Rodgers

Kathy Rodgers of Davenport, Iowa, died peacefully at the Cook Hospice House, on Saturday, August 13th, succumbing to the effects of pancreatic cancer. She was 69 years old.

A memorial gathering will be announced, at a later date. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, Illinois, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Scott County Humane Society in Kathy’s name.

Kathleen Liana Rodgers was born November 6, 1952, in Davenport, Iowa, to James Winfield and Eva Judith (Nelson) Rodgers. Kathy grew up in LeClaire, the first daughter of the Rodgers’ nine children.

Kathy graduated from Pleasant Valley High School in 1970 and began working at the Scott County Treasurer’s Office in 1972. She retired as a Tax Accounting Specialist in 2009 after 37 years of service to Scott County.

Kathy is survived by her daughter Nicole (Rodgers) Ames, Son-in-law Darin Ames; Don (Ida) Rodgers, Tom Rodgers, Michael Rodgers, Karen (Rodgers) Salisbury and several nieces, nephews, and life-long friends.

Kathy was preceded in death by parents, James and Eva Rodgers, and brothers Gary, Steve, Alan, and Tim Rodgers. She is also preceded in death by her two beloved doxies, Doobie and Woody.
