Gay V. Coulston, 92, of East Moline, Illinois, formerly of Rock Island, Illinois, died Tuesday, October 30, 2018, in Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline.

Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Chuckey, Tennessee. A memorial service at MGT New Hope Church, Moline, will be held in May.

The former Gay Conklin was born September 23, 1926, in Limestone, Tennessee, to Paul and Ethel Phillips Conklin. She married Cleatis R. Coulston who preceded her in death on November 25, 1989. She was a licensed minister at Westside Assembly of God, Moline Gospel Temple, and Lighthouse Baptist Church, Rock Island, and volunteered at the Rescue Mission in Rock Island.

Gay is survived by a daughter, Kathy (Chuck) Spaulding of Mesa, Arizona; seven grandchildren, Stephanie Coulston, Steve Coulston, Chris Coulston, Angie Laleman, Darrell Coulston Jr., Shawn Spaulding, and Stacey Spaulding; 15 great-grandchildren; a sister, Suella Kyte of Fall Branch, Tennessee; a former daughter-in-law and guardian, Jean Simpson of Moline; and several nieces and nephews. She was a foster mom to three children. She was preceded in death by her husband; sons, Carroll, Darrell, and Steve Coulston; two brothers and two sisters.
