James W. Deskin, 65, of Moline, Illinois, died Saturday, November 2, 2019, in the emergency room at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis, Illinois.
A gathering to celebrate Jim’s life will be announced at a later date. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities, with private burial in Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family.
James William Deskin was born September 6, 1954, in Rock Island, Illinois, the son of James William and Ruth (Erickson) Deskin. He married Dianna Moneymaker on August 22, 1987, in Pleasant Valley, Iowa, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was a custodian and groundskeeper for Black Hawk College for many years. Previously, he had worked at Sears Manufacturing. He enjoyed watching sports of all kinds and tattoos.
Jim is survived by his wife, Dianna of Moline; a son, James William Deskin of Silvis, Illinois; a granddaughter, Lillian Annabella Deskin; siblings, Kathy Gildea, Julie Inman, Sue Hartman, Vicky Murray, Lisa Puck, Terry Mock, and Debbie Cunningham; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
