James M. Berwick

James M. Berwick, 68, of Davenport, Iowa, died Saturday, January 13, 2018, at Genesis Medical Center – East Rusholme Street, Davenport.

Services will be private with cremation at Trimble Crematory, Moline, under the direction of the Cremation Society of the Quad Cities.  Memorials may be made to the family.

James was born September 1, 1949, in Orange, Texas, the son of Willie and Priscilla (Higginbottom) Berwick.  He married Shirley Calhoon on May 7, 1974, in Orange, Texas.  He worked on the river as an engineer.  He enjoyed mowing grass, and was known in his neighborhood as the “lawn mower man”.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley; two step-children, John (Christina) Calhoon of Cabot, Arkansas, and Robin Goebel of California; nine grandchildren, Cody, Tabitha, Ariana, Jamie, Westyn, Dwayne, Beauregard, Kylee, and Taylor; three great-grandchildren, Ryleigh, Wesley, and Brynlee Anne; two siblings, Lettie Jean Blanda and Josie Sumrall; his beloved dogs, Chaco and Sandy; and his granddog, Budreaux.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Tommy and Paul Berwick, and Nora Ann.
